Toss Report:

Graeme Swann calls tails. It’s heads. India will … err I don’t know yet. MS Dhoni hasn’t said what he wants to do. Finally he says India will bat.

India are not playing Varun Aaron and Gautam Gambhir from the fifth ODI. Gambhir got married over the weekend so has better uses for his time at the moment. Robin Uthappa gets an international game for the first time since 2008, and Yusuf Pathan, who’s been sidelined from the ODI squad since the tour of West Indies, also gets a chance.

Uthappa will open with Ajinkya Rahane. Uthappa has played some monstrous innings in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which is India’s domestic T20 tournament. Not the IPL.

England will open their batting with Alex Hales. Swann said with a grin that Hales plays for the best county in England. He would of course, since it’s Nottinghamshire.

Eden Gardens is only a quarter full according to Ganguly, so there are thousands and thousands of empty seats at the moment, waiting to be warmed.

Pitch:  the pitch is the same as the one that was used in the fifth ODI. India spun England dizzy in that game and Ganguly expects more turn today. Win the toss and bat first should be the way to go.

India vs England Only Twenty20 Toss Report 29th October 2011

The ICC released its T20 rankings last week and England, who are World Twenty20 champions, were ranked No. 1. It could be a short reign, if they lose today they’ll slip to No. 3, below Sri Lanka and India. If they win, they’ll stretch their lead over Sri Lanka.

Sourav Ganguly, on NEO sports, says the pitch is the same as the one that was used in the fifth ODI. India spun England dizzy in that game and Ganguly expects more turn today. Win the toss and bat first should be the way to go.

India have won the ODI series 5-0 and have the opportunity to send England home winless. How the tables have turned. The Tests count for a lot, though, and there aren’t any on this tour.

India vs England T20 Match Preview

So thats the end of odi series which clinched by the Indians with 5-0 margin. But now this time is the T20 champion, England would not be easy for the India to tackle. However India, are always been the dangerous of all time when they are playing at their home. Indian crowd are well known across the globe due to their passion, noise and emotions.

Indian batsmen from opener Ajinkya Rahane to all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja all have contributed in the ‘payback ODI Series’ this month. England is baldy under pressure and this pressure was reflecting highly in the last match when their wickers fallen as leaves of fall. England were not expecting this as their openers given them a strong start but pressure came into the center and England fallen down before India.

England have not succeeded in their single match of this tour yet. They would struggle hard to have a better performance here as they are ICC International T20 Champions. On other hand, India will try their level best to wash out England in the whole series and to continue their high temperament and level of succes.

India vs England Only T20 Top Players

M.S.Dhoni: The darling of Indian cricket has plundered 330 runs since England last dismissed him at The Oval in September. The game-changer’s ability to wallop biggies and his cool as a cucumber approach under pressure makes India a cut above the rest.

C.Kieswetter: Kieswetter, who experienced a torrid run against the hosts in the 50 over version, will be itching to vent his agression and get England off to a blistering start. The Somerset lad was the best batsman on display for his county side in the lucrative Champions League T20.

Eden Gardens Kolkata Pitch Report / Weather Conditions

The surface at the new-look Eden Gardens will have some juice on offer for the spinners. R.Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, who took 7-61 in the 17 overs between them on Tuesday will relish bowling at Kolkata.

The pitch at Eden Gardens for the fifth one-dayer was slow and started to offer considerable turn as the match wore on. There will not be as much deterioration over 40 overs, but if the matches here during the IPL were any indication, the Twenty20 may not be as high-scoring as some might hope.

Stats / Facts / Records

  • This will be the first Twenty20 international England will play on Indian soil. The two have played each other three times in T20s, with England leading the head-to-head 2-1
  • This will be the first Twenty20 international played in India since 2009. There have been just three completed T20Is in India before, and the home side have a 2-1 record
  • With 1011 runs, Kevin Pietersen has the second-most runs in Twenty20 internationals among all batsmen. Only Brendon McCullum has more

What a stunning collapse from England. They appeared to be cruising at 129 for 0, but Cook’s dismissal really turned the match. From there, they collapsed to 176 all out, the spinners claiming nine of the wickets to fall. Jadeja and Ashwin, as they have done all series, caused major problems. Fittingly, it was MS Dhoni who held the catch to win the match.
